WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Boulder Kisumu Sister City works to encourage the people of the City of Boulder, Colorado, USA and Kisumu, Kenya to acquire a consciousness of each other as individuals, as members of their community and as part of the family of nations.
We are involved in sustainable projects that are deemed useful and helpful by a joint committee between Boulder and Kisumu. Projects have included: water and sanitation projects, women's empowerment, inter school communication, and cultural exchange.
There are many ways that individuals can become involved with the Boulder Kisumu Sister City: local volunteering, international volunteering, fundraising and local committee involvement.
Our projects aim to undertake activities and programs that will provide to one another appropriate aid, comfort, education and mutual understanding of each other's culture.
